Dust sensor SM-PWM-01A
The SM-PWM-01A of the American GE company is a dust sensor that uses optical methods to detect the dust concentration in the air. There is an infrared diode and an image sensor in the dust sensor. Their optical axes intersect. When the airflow with dust passes through the intersection area where the optical axes intersect, the dust reflects the infrared light, and the reflected light intensity is proportional to the dust concentration. The image sensor detects the infrared light emitted by the infrared diode reflected by the dust, and outputs a pulse width modulation signal (PWM) that reflects the dust concentration through the signal conditioning circuit.
GE's SM-PWM-01A dust sensor can detect particles like cigarette particles, and can also detect large particles such as indoor dust. It can distinguish the concentration of different dust particles by outputting two different pulse width modulation signals (PWM).
